2018 – “The Year of the Dog “Charity Event.
Farm in the City is a petting zoo which portrays a unique concept that combines the elements of wildlife with nature set in a designed environment of a conservation park. Designed to resemble a typical Malaysian “kampong” setting, it provides an opportunity for the young and old to get close to animals and plants which the public had only read about or seen on TV.
Being a petting zoo, most of our animals are allowed to roam freely in special enclosures which closely mimic their natural surroundings. One can feed, touch and interact with more than 100 species of exotic animals within close proximity. In addition, we also have more than 60 species of tropical fruits and vegetable in our farm.
We are proud to inform you that along the 6 years that be have been operating, we have conducted many CSR activities in support of different social causes as a contribution back to our society. This year, in conjunction with the year of the Dog, we have decided to conduct a different charity event this year which targets mainly stray animals namely dogs and cats as a form of contribution as well as an awareness campaign on the plight of stray animals.
As we all know, despite being our domestic friends and companions, we constantly hear about pets or animals in general being abused and abandoned for various reasons. Some examples of such cruelty may include starving pets, the act of scalding animals with hot water, maiming body parts and animal trafficking. Farm in the City is collaborating with two animal welfare societies and some prominent Malaysian artists to launch one of the nation’s largest animal welfare campaign with the theme “Let’s Adopt, Never Abandon”.
The Management has decided to donate a part of the ticket sales for the month of February as a form of contribution to support the animal welfare societies involved in this campaign.
